Kevin Adams is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and fiddle player from North Buckinghamshire.

Twenty years or so ago Kev, as an experienced folk club resident and pub singer, was sidetracked into the world of traditional dance, and an ambition to give it a real go as a solo singer was put to one side. Playing for dancing has kept him busy, in particular with the bands Stömp and Stocai, appearing at many festivals in the UK and abroad, and recording a clutch of well received CDs.

In the meantime, however, Kev’s songwriting and performing has quietly flourished due to an involvement in community documentary theatre with the Milton Keynes based Living Archive. His finely-crafted songs, from the most hilarious to the most moving, have a relevance not just to the specific events they describe. They tell stories we can all relate to in the same way that many traditional songs do- and indeed, Kev’s solo set also contains its fair share of traditional songs.

Kev was once exhorted in the letters page of ‘Folk Roots’ magazine to ‘get out of the back rooms of pubs.’ He can only say that he tried.

Kev has recorded two CDs, one of his own songs and one a mix of traditional and contemporary items. More...
